For those who are interested in Tripod TV but have not yet sent off discs to get a copy, there is now a second option to get your fill. A very generous guy and fellow Tripod fan, Tim Russell has been kind enough to donate his time and bandwidth to host a Torrent file of Disc One. So if you haven’t been able to yet find the time to embark on the mail-in adventure yet, and are in touch enough with your tech geek side, you may consider this as an option. All we ask is that if you choose this option that you at least donate some time to help share the file and not just run off with it once it’s downloaded.

This is great news for those who are just plain lazy, afraid to leave the house, or live in a land outside of this big brown flat mysterious crazy country.

A link to the Torrent file can be found in the Tripod TV section of the website. Thanks, Tim!

For the last three years, Australian Musical Comedy group Tripod have ran an annual competition and Melbourne Comedy Festival show known as Idio Clips. The objective of the competition is to create a music video for any song from Tripod’s catalogue. The entries of the competition are then voted on by Tripod themselves, and finalists are chosen to be screened at Tripod’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival show on Sunday 19th April 2009, where they will perform the songs live to the clips as they play on a large screen.

This year, for the first time in the three years the competition has been running, my group of cronies and I are finally removing our posteriors from their respective sitting positions, and creating an Idio Clip entry of our own. Filming has begun last weekend, and should be wrapping up in two weeks time.

Tickets for the Idio Clips show can be purchased online here. We can’t guarantee that we’ll make the finals, but we’re an optimistic bunch.
DISCLAIMER: Though I am a fan of Tripod, it should be noted that the last two projects I have been working on just happen to both be Tripod-related projects, and just happen to have fallen end-to-end – this is purely coincidental. In short, don’t misjudge me as someone who lives and breathes Tripod and only Tripod. Over the following months I will be presenting a veritable smorgasbord of sensory delights, so stay tuned.

Quite some months ago, I began heading an initiative called Tripod TV, a DVD project collating footage of TV appearances by Australian Musical Comedy group Tripod. It’s an entirely non-profit project, and has only been possible thanks to the many avid Tripod fans throughout Australia and the world, who have graciously submitted their treasured archived footage of the trio spanning their 15-years-and-counting career. The project has also been given the official blessing and green-light by Tripod themselves, and I am thrilled to have been heading such a great community effort.

After what seems like an eternity of false-starts, hiccups and potholes, the light at the end of the tunnel is drawing nearer, and the project is now officially slated for release February 2nd. There will be a second disc compiled later on this year, though the date for that will be a while off and has not been decided yet.

More details on Tripod TV can be found in the new, appropriately named Tripod TV section of the website, or at the discussion thread about the project over on the official Tripod forums.

Welcome to my new website! Please excuse the emptiness and any unforeseen disarray - I’m still putting this thing together. Before too long it should be a lot more feature-packed, and I plan on making it not only a little portfolio of my work, but also a place to keep up-to-date with current goings-on and newsy tidbits direct from my very real life.

Let me know what you think anyway. Feedback is good in these early stages. Ironing out the kinks and whatnot. The little number thingy sticking out underneath the date there is the little number thingy to click if you want to leave a comment.
